How To Pray For Japan

On Tuesday 15th of march I was asked this question. How do you pray for Japan?
This was the answer I gave."well its a good question you have asked I said". This is how I pray during my prayer time for Japan.

  • Those that lost loved ones
I pray for the people that have lost loved ones due to the disaster, I pray that God will comfort them, that He will give them strength to carry on. That like never before they will experience His love and embrace.
  • Rescuer
I pray for more rescuers to volunteer their time and expertise to help the people of Japan. I pray for other nations to rise up to the call of help just as countries like America, Britain, china and others have graciously responded.
  •  Those that are still alive
I pray that the Good Lord Himself will lead the rescuers to those that are still alive but under the rubbles. That they will be found on time, I also pray that God will give the survivors that are under the rubbles the hope and faith to hold on. I pray that God will miraculously sustain them until they are found
  • Health workers
I pray for doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors etc to volunteer their time and gift to help the people of Japan, I pray also that pharmaceutical companies will donate the needed pharmaceuticals needed.
  • Organizations
I pray for organizations like Operation Blessing, Doctors without borders and other non-profit organization, that God will give them all that they need to continue to do what they do in helping those that have been affected by disaster.
  • Children
I pray for the children and babies that they will be found and that all that they need will be at the disposal of their carers to make it easier on them. As you and I know that children sometimes don't understand the magnitude of what has happened. Can you just picture this with me. A mother with an infant and the infant has need of food, that infant does not understand that food or water may be limited at this time, the mother is the one with the understanding and guess what? this puts more pressure and stress on the mother who is already stressed to keep her child alive, this mother will need all the help she can get to meet the need of her child.
  • The leaders
I pray for the leaders of that nation that God will give then the  wisdom on how to reach out effectively to the citizens of that nation at this difficult time. I pray that leaders of other nations will join with them to give support in ways they can without hesitation.
  • Churches
I pray that the places of worship will be a place of refuge for the people, I pray that the Christians in Japan will reach out to their fellow citizens. I pray that  the Christians will hold on to this word of God that says  "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." – John 14:18 and that their faith will not fail them, but they will let their lights shine.

Donations
I pray for donations from all companies, countries and people from around the word. Donations of food, water, clothing basic hygiene supplies etc.  Most of these people have lost everything they have and all they may have may be all they are wearing. Dear one picture this with me. Can you see a woman with only what she is wearing and she is on her monthly period, and there is no other apparel, undergarment, pad and what not she can change into. Can you picture yourself in her? she is feeling exactly how you will feel and needing exactly what you would need if it were you.

These are a few of the things I pray specifically for Japan. I hope it will help you too if you don't know how and where to start. I don't mean to make you feel sad, but to help us all to see how we can help and we can all start by praying.
