1 Corithians 12:14-20
We are specifically
created with certain talents, gifts and abilities. The way we live out our
strengths allows us to fully participate in building the kingdom of God and
fulfill His purposes for lives and his work her in earth.
God decides our personality and
strengths and that is one of the things that make us unique individuals. He gave us the personality to
complement the gifts, talents and abilities he has endowed us with. For some of
us, without our personality, we cannot fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
Take for example God has endowed you with the gift to be an encourager, with
this gift. An
encourager always spots your potential—the godly glint of outstanding ability
inside you. They have a sincere certainty that everything you need to create
the life God desires for you is already inside you awaiting your discovery.
They always encourage you to follow your God-given dreams and the leading of
the Holy Spirit, although they do not set goals for you or provide a plan. They
might recommend suggestions for building the life God has for you—they may ask
questions to help you ascertain what it is that gives you joy. They know you
are God’s greatest miracle and competent of fulfilling God’s destiny and purpose
for your life. Nevertheless, they will never give up on you, even if you give
up on yourself. Encouragers are honest and will not give phony compliments. God created an encourager with this personality, and it is nearly impossible to find an encourager who is cold, unprovoked,
dishonest, reserved and negative.
When we don’t live out the strengths, gifts, talents and abilities God
has given to us, that is when we become dissatisfied with life - unhappy and
unfulfilled. One of the things that gives an individual fulfillment is living
out the destiny and purpose God has for them and that is rooted in using the
strengths, gifts, talents and abilities God has given each of us.
I want to encourage us to do the thing we are called to do, the things
we are most enthusiastic about, the things that makes us beam just thinking
about them and never be anxious about how it will not happen or how to make it
happen, but to trust and radically relay on the One who created us with those gifts, talents and abilities to make it happen. God uses His power to accomplish His purposes through you and
I. God does not give us power to be all we want to be, but He gives us power to
be all He wants us to be. We as believers must learn and understand that trusting
God means completely realigning our purpose and desire with His especially in
areas we have not in the past. There are some strengths, gifts, talents and
abilities that suit certain personalities. Dear one be comfortable with what
God has given you and don’t be concerned about pleasing everyone else, but
endeavor to please the One who created you and gave you the strength, gifts,
talents, and abilities.

Great reminder! Also, I'd like to add sometimes God changes our "calling" for different seasons and sometimes asks us to do something outside what we think is our "gift"... but really he's developing a gift maybe we didn't know. I definitely believe we are all given gifts, but want to encourage women (young and old) that sometimes when God is asking us to do something that is hard, it doesn't always mean that it isn't His will or that we don't have the gift to do it. His Mercy is new every morning (and in every season) and He gives us Grace for every step of the way.
